LarryEA Posted November 26, 2014 Report Posted November 26, 2014 It's time to start our flip flop. I imagine you've seen spring flowers by now. Our first significant snow is supposed to start within an hour. Actually I guess I should have said this when Buffalo NY got their eight feet of snow, Enjoy...... Quote
heppnerguy Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 That is correct, Larry. as we brace for the cold, Marg starts noticing the days getting longer and the spring plants start to bloom. Wouldn't mine being in Australia about now.. Any open rooms in your house, Marg ? Dick heppnerguy Quote
wombatie Posted November 27, 2014 Report Posted November 27, 2014 Actually guys its the first day of summer of Monday. The weather will certainly start to heat up then. February is usually the hottest down here in Victoria though. It will probably be a horrible bushfire season, its been a fairly dry year. I don't envy you your winter we saw on TV the snow in Buffalo, it looked dreadful. Take care driving in the snow / ice / slush won't you. Have a great Thanksgiving. Marg Quote

Roly Roly we see a few Red Back spiders every now and again but we usually hit them with something. My daughter's got a couple of Blue Tongue Lizards that live in her garden and if you don't bother them they won't bother you, they only bite when you tease them but they're not deadly. As for snakes, have never seen one and never want too, but they are in the bush at the back of the houses across the road. There are a lot more deadly snakes around than spiders. The really hot weather I hate especially 35 to 45 Celsius, 95 to 110F and even more so when we have a few days of it in a row. Thankfully we have a couple of air conditioners. But I think night time is the worst, can't sleep with the heat even though we have a ceiling fan in the bedroom. Read in the paper today that we are in for a really hot summer and maybe even another drought, last one lasted near enough 10 years. Grass fires have already started. Give me the cool weather and a brisk walk any day of the week. One week of sun on holiday is enough for me. Stay Safe Marg.Roly wombatie 1 Quote
Mort Posted November 28, 2014 Report Posted November 28, 2014 I don't know about you guys, but I think I was born in the wrong state. I should've been from Hawaii. Its 75 in the winter and 85 in the summer. What could be better than that? The day before Thanksgiving I plowed snow for 11 1/2 hours. That is not how I like to spend my day. Everything is harder when its cold and snowy out. Don't get me wrong, its pretty. But not when you have to live in it. Quote
