High gas prices

Hep's story reminded me of a local interview with a lady when gas prices neared $4 per gal. ,when asked what she thought about these terrible prices of gas ,She replied DON"T EFFECT ME AT ALL ,how's that the tv comentator ask ? I ONLY BUY $20.00 Worth each time  I stop in !

When I was a youngster, I remember gas selling for 28 cents per gallon.

My grocery store gives me more of a discount on buying gas than it used to cost.

Got you beat Larry.  I pumped a lot of gas at 18.9 cents per gal and that was a full service station so really made us work.  One night a week there was a car auction and boy did they keep me busy as the dealers would buy several cars and then stop in to get enough gas to get home and wanted the oil, water and air checked on each one.

When I was young, in high school it was around .19 a gallon.  Coarse I only got paid $1 an hour at my after school job!

25 cent a gallon is what it was when i was in jr. high a qt. of bulk oil was 10 cent

I remember when in 57 when I would put $1 in the gas tank go to the drive in with a date. Stop on the way home for a Big Boy&

Choc. Shake with $5 in my pocket and when I got home I had change left over. I was making $0.50 per hour doing Farm work. Things haven't changed that much. It still cost you 10 hours work to do anything.

Yeah ! but when was the last time you got S&H green stamps ? Or a piece of china in your soap power ,or a toy in your cereal box .,or sack cloth at the feed store ?
