LarryEA Posted January 3, 2015 Report Posted January 3, 2015 I have to ask ,I saw a bumper sticker the other day that said (WANT TO GO BROKE BUY A HORSE) is that true! Horses are called hay burners. I would guess it's because all they produce is manure. A sane and realistic comment to that: Hay, grain, vitamins, vet bills, farrier, gear and machinery, don't come free. Assuming there is already stall and fencing already there. To use them you need saddles, bridles, blankets, lead rope, and know how to train one. Be nice to have a carriage and sled. My wife loves horses and I'm married to her. One horse doesn't break you!!!!!! Loving horses could. Quote
amazingkevin Posted January 4, 2015 Report Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Well my friend races horses and stays broke, He wins a lot but has to pay everybody back for services rendered .vet bills the horse shoe guy, feed, stalls on track property, Hugh bags of carrots bedding other food & supplements etc.the jockey He might make a few bucks but look at all the hours he puts in .Gotta love horses!Edward i'll take coffee and tea today!p.s. surry repairs,it never ends!race fees etc. Edited January 4, 2015 by amazingkevin Quote
