Saturday is my 23rd wedding anniversary. I figured I'd show my appreciation to this wonderful woman by creating something which was heart felt. I found a rose pattern created by Grampa which I thought was perfect. To make it fit I had to shrink it in size which meant the cuts were pretty small. After several hours using a 2/0 blade cutting maple I had a decent product. Then, I decided to trim it just a bit. I should have left well enough alone. This is the result of using the incorrect tool.

Hi Jim:

Looks like you and the Mrs are in for a nice dinner after all.

I hate it when that happens.( not the anniversary, the broken designer firewood )

I have a hole in my wall, to remind me when to stop fiddling around.

Happy Anniversary

Happy anniversary Jim. Sorry about the damage. But maybe it's repairable. A little glue, some color to the roses, a backer, and some finish and maybe...

I did that one awhile ago using a 3/0 blade. You could do it again for her birthday.

My first try at that pattern went into waste basket but early on in the cutting.  Said a couple of things

that aren't for polite society.

DAN is right take lemon's and make lemonade. If man made it man can fix it.You amaze your self what you'll do to make this a happy accident .On job sites the painters hide all the carpenters mistakes! You will come up with the perfect solution and nobody will know anything.

Personally, I think it's repairable. Glue it up using some clamps to hold it together real well, then after the glue has dried, sand it with a detail sander and apply a clear finish. If done right, I don't think that you could notice where it was broken.
