edward Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 Just came back from a weekend show, and it wasn't good at all, infact I lost money. Things I thought would sell didn't. I was sure the intersecting art would sell, but I was wrong. Glad this is the l.ast show till the fall. People werenb't really looking, didn't really see people carrying bags.. Just thought I woulf vent a little. edward Quote
Jim Finn Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 In my experience it is a waste of time to try to sell at craft shows or festivals this time of year. My first sale is at the end of May but mostly my sales season is from June15th to Christmas. Quote
Fab4 Posted March 29, 2015 Report Posted March 29, 2015 Hi edward: Sorry to hear about your horrible weekend. Only one way to go from here - Good luck for your future shows Fab4 Quote

wombatie Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 Sorry to hear that Edward. Your work is so good they should be begging you for your creations. Marg Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 Edward I have been doing shows for the last 8 years of so and I have found like a lot of others that most of these craft / art shows that folks go to this time of the year sales are slow. It is not until the 2nd half of the year that folks start to think about gifts and things like that. Keep the faith, you do great work and the next show will be better. DW Quote
ike Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 OOPs looks like i told a untruth with my post. My wife informed me that she signed us up for a show in April. I don't have anything new just stuff left over from last year. Don't have much faith in this sale . Will let you know when it's overwith. Quote
LarryEA Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 I went to one two weeks ago. After expenses I made $50 ... better than a kick in the pants. about $5 an hour packing, unpacking and sitting Quote
courdorygirl Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 We rarely do craft shows. I think we're only signed up for one at the beginning of May, because it's for a church and part of the proceeds go towards their missions. Usually, we opt for comic book conventions instead. Deeper pockets and not that hard to change the theme to appeal to that market. The vendor fees are a bit higher (but not that much, my next con was $75 for two 8-foot tables and three chairs), but they are usually inside, electricity provided for my credit card reader, and the customer base has deep pockets.
