Pattern Use?

Hi All:

 

I found this site with free stencils. I'm a bit confused on their use. According to their "terms of use" they can be embellished and used privately as well as commercially. My interpretation is that if I add these stencils in my own design I can create my own patterns. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I read the terms of use on their site and apparently my understanding is that you are allowed to use their designs in your own creations for what ever you want as long as you don't just use their images only. Meaning, as long as you just use their image in the proces of your own design you be ok along with the other terms dealing with there site and downloads.

Sometimes, less-than-honest webmasters will go onto a website and download all of their clipart, only to create their own clipart website. This is called content scraping. They do this in order to generate ad revenue. Basically, they're trying to deter content scrapers by making an upfront statement that these images can only be used for projects and embellishments. That gives them a bit more legal leverage if someone decides to steal their clipart.

 

You should be just fine using their patterns in your patterns and projects.

That was my understanding. They have some nice selections that could be incorporated in various designs.
