Scrolling Steve Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 I would love to work on a walking stick....like Merlin, have no carving skills....I like what you did ! Quote
Kepy Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 I have a PHD in this also as there is a stack of unfinished carvings in the other room. Kevin, you can do a lot of that with a pocket knife as I have seen some very nice work done that way. The important thing is to have it very sharp. Quote
Scrappile Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 Sitting by a campfire whittling, that's the life. I have a walking stick that I started whittling on about 30 year ago. Everytime we camped, I'd whittle a little more on it. It is about the only thing I have that the grandkids argue over who will get it when I die! That's really a cheerful conversation around the camp fire,,, my demise. Anyway, I like you whittling, Soricer. You are right it is very enjoyable. Quote
Sorcier Posted October 20, 2015 Author Report Posted October 20, 2015 All but the basket was done with a pocket knife. I honed it down for whittling. The basket is a walnut shell I cut down with a dremel cutting wheel. I fill them with skittles and hand them out as lil Easter baskets Quote
