    Porter Cable PCB375SS

I am new to scrollsawing and this is my first scrollsaw. Having said that, it has provided me with enough enjoyment that I have starting looking online for patterns, forums, blogs, etc. I hope to use this saw for quite some time.

    DeWalt DW788

WELLLLL... My wife has been looking over my shoulder as I have been looking around this site, including downloading GIMP and reviewing how to use it in the university. She also has been looking at the reviews of the various saws. She told me to look on Craig's List for local saws, and lo and behold, a local pawn shop had a Dewalt for sale for $299.00. I drove up there an got it for $250.00 out the door. So I am now playing with my new toy. woohoo

  15. Jay, if you go with the license and the item seems to be a hit, you can then make more for them to offer at future dates to raise money. Just a thought, Ward
  16. OMG that is fantastic work
  17. Congratulations !!
  18. I am sorry, but I look at this as a "sale" of the item. You are making the item with the specific intent that it be offered for sale at an auction. The fact that you personally will not profit from the sale is beside the point. If you were intending to make the item, sell it, then donate the proceeds to the hospice, I think you would have to agree that would be a sale. Making it for them to hang on the wall would not be a sale, but you are making it for the sole purpose of generating money. Ward (yes, I am a lawyer)

  21. Those both look great !!!!!
  22. I started out making desktop names for everyone in my office. I was buying wood at Home Depot from their "culled lumber" pile. I was offered, and turned down, compensation for these projects They were my hobby. However, a few weeks later, an envelope with "Ward's Scrollsaw Blade Fund" on the front of it suddenly appeared on the corner of my desk with $50.00 in various denominations within. I have done many projects for the office and every now and then, that envelope reappears. Kevin, if people truly appreciate what your are doing for them, they would show it in some fashion. I know you are not looking to make money on your projects, but after a while, it looks like you are being taken advantage of. Just my two cents.. Ward
