gator Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Well gonna be out of here for awhile. Here in Dayton we had 14" of rain in 12 hours and well we couldn't take it. Had afoot of water in shop and 6" in my house. Pretty devastated but we are going to be okay. Had friend come up and help remove carpets and 2' sheet rock through out house. 4thnight in hotel will be back home tomorrow or next day. Going to be a long processes but oh well. no flood ins. Don't know when the shop will get done but going to be a long time before working for fun any way. Quote

WigWag Workshop Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 Oh man, what a disaster not sure I good deal with that. Are floods a "common" occurrence in the area? I don't mean to that extreme, but I have read stories like this from other folks that live in Texas. Wishing you and yours all the best! -Steven Quote
gator Posted November 5, 2015 Author Report Posted November 5, 2015 Problem is you can live in a area that never floods then they build a new subdivision down stream and change water flow patterns. 14" in 12 hours is hard to build for but it happens. Personal note was feeling pretty low today and saw news were Amon accidentally backed over her 2 year old. She died. I swear I heard God tom you think you got problems. Lift up this mom and family oh gator were doing just fine wombatie, Scrolling Steve and LarryEA 3 Quote
bbofpp Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 I thought Dayton, Ohio at first but then read more closely. Texas. What a mess. Wait a couple weeks and then tell your insurance company a pipe failed . All joking aside, I hope your recovery isn't too painful and you are back to normal again soon. As that lady in the YouTube vid says: "Ain't Nobody Got Time For That" We're going to Rockport, TX next week and I hope it is dry for you and me. gator 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted November 5, 2015 Report Posted November 5, 2015 That has to be horrible. What a mess. Sorry it happened. I would hate to have to go through that rebuilding. We are having out basement finished off. What a hassle and a mess but it was planned so much easier to cope with. I built the house, but 30 years later I find I cannot to the heavy stuff anymore. I feel you and your family. Quote
kywoodmaster Posted November 6, 2015 Report Posted November 6, 2015 Sorry to hear about your loss but as others have said all is replaceable except life. Good luck on the remodel. Quote
