Here is my first attempt at designing & cutting a trivet.  It's for a Son (& wife) that is a mechanical engineer.  They live in Texas.

 

3/4" oak.  Because of Iowa temperature, will not apply a finish until late spring.

 

Critiques welcome.  (I can take it)
