Dewalt 788

I couldn't believe my luck. I was looking on Craigslist.com and this guy was selling his Brand new Dewalt 788 for $200.00, So i called him to see what the story was ( thinking the saw must have something wrong with it ).

He said his in-laws bought it for him for Christmas, but he didn't know how to use it and had no desire to learn. So I went to see it. It didn't have the work light. So I offered him $175.00 and told him it really needed a work light. I almost felt guilty (ALMOST) when he said OK sold. So I bought the saw then went down to WoodCraft and bought the work light for $30.00. Hubby told me I should be ashamed. I told him the guy should be ashamed for selling it to me so dang cheap.

Wow. What a great deal! I'd only feel guilty for a short time, but I'd quickly get over it. Besides, to him, he's $175 richer than the day before. Congratulations on your killer find!

boy, i need to find a deal like that. i keep my eye on the thrifty nickle, but never see a deal that good. congrats on the great find.

Craigslist is an awesome place to get lucky like this. I too picked up a 788 a year and half ago for $200 that was brand new with light and stand (although the light seriously gets in the way). Now if only someone would put a decent bandsaw on so I can do some resawing I'd be happy!! Believe me when I say the guilt only lasts until you fire it up the first time!!

Hi wish that we could get the DEWALT--788 in the UK only dremel and some cheap saw,s won,t say there names . It is hard trying to get a good saw my last Dremel broke down 3 or 4 times in as many weeks its working ok now ,I have used 4 saw since I started scrolling the cheap ones don,t seem to take a good days work ?????

So it anyone can tell me what site ot go to in the UK I would be very thankful.

You lucky thing you lol. I wouldn't feel guilty in the least. He was happy with the price you paid! It's not your fault he didn't know the saws worth lol. Congrats. When I can afford a new saw I hope I'm that lucky!

Oh Wow what a bargain you got that is a great deal on a Dewalt 788 saw. I have a Dewalt but my isn't yellow any more the guy that owned it before me had it painted to match the machines in his wood shop It is a awful mint Green color Yuck. But the paint job is so good on the saw i hate to screw with it and the color really doesn't change the way the saw cuts in any way.So i have left it alone.I will post pictures of the Green machine so you all can see it.UUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGG
