  8. thanks guys. the sandpaper did the trick. i guess maybe theres too much oil on the blades. i run the sandpaper over the ends a couple times and i also rubbed the end with alcohol. only takes a couple of seconds and im in business. thanks for the help i knew i could count on you guys
  9. i'm using a craftsman saw and never had any problems before. these are a new pack of blades. i'll try the cleaning the ends and see if that is the problem. maybe its the oil on the blades making it slip. i'll let you know what i find out. thanks guys

  18. normally i say im a woodworker. if they are interested i explain the type of woodworking i do. if theyre not interested, just saying i'm a woodworker is good enough for them and me. i don't get too carried away with scroll saw talk. most people dont care. thats why i hang out here. i can talk about scroll saws and nobody looks bord. at least i dont think they do.
  19. ive heard of it but never tried it. i would think it would be sticky and collect a lot of dirt. especially since its for a kids toy. if anybody tried it i'm curious to hear about it too.

  21. ive got a problem maybe you can help me out. when i'm scrolling the bottome blade will pop out of the jaws after a minute or two of cutting. i really cranked down on the knob but the blade slips out again. ive never had this problem before. did i break something or is it the blades. i cant put my finger on the problem. anybody else have this problem
  22. i get a kick out of those character carvings. ive even seen people make them. i wish i had that kind of talent. id end up cutting off my thumb tho. i really like my thumb where it is so i'll leave it to the pros. you should post some of your carvings. id love to see them. welcome to the village. i think youll have a great time here. lots of great poeple.
  23. agreed. i hope you enjoy the site. i get a kick out of it. sometimes i spend too much time reading the forum and patterns instead of scrolling tho. i cant wait to see some of your cuttings. welcome aboard.

  25. first, i want my shop heated. then you can move in the lathe. first the big one, then the small one. then i need a new scroll saw. then a big drill press, and a bandsaw, table saw, planer, jointer, and drum sander. and a workbench to hold all my junk. and another workbench to work on. i almost forgot the lazy boy chair and tv and small fridge for sodas. ok, big fridge. lots of shelves to hold tools that i would probably never use. and a lumber rack with every kind of wood avalable. and a maid to clean up the sawdust and soda cans. i probably need a microwave too. i should put in a bathroom too, since i probably wont' ever leave the shop.
