Dan Posted December 22, 2015 Report Posted December 22, 2015 With 4 young ones running around the house this time of year my wife and I find it hard to find some, well, time away from the kids. Last week the kids were watching TV so I tugged on my wife’s shirt sleeve and nodded toward the bedroom. Her eyes were twinkling with excitement as we headed down the hall. Quietly closing the door, we finally felt alone. As we were getting ready to “accomplish our task†there it was, a little knock on the door. We sat in silence for a second, then a louder knock and Jimmy yelled, “Hey, are you in there? Why is the door locked?†To this I replied, “Your mother and I are just talking.†Jimmy said, “I’m hungry. Can you make me a sandwich?†Another delay in our plans. After lunch the kids had full bellies and were listening to Christmas music and playing a board game. Again, I let my wife know that we need to seize the moment. As we headed toward the bedroom she said, “Not the bedroom. The kids will find us there. Let’s do it in the laundry room.†Wanting to “take care of business†we locked the door behind us. Finally, our alone time. Until the yelling started. The kids were out of control and there was crying. I looked at my wife sadly and said, “At this rate we’ll never get those Christmas presents wrapped!†Merry Christmas everyone! Scrolling Steve, bobscroll, Rob Roy and 4 others 7 Quote
