Some were wondering about the pine needles I use for my baskets. Here is an Eagle design by Landry where I am still coiling. Not  a great picture but if you look closely you can see the process. The needles bundled together are what I usually use. The ones being coiled are some weird ones I'm trying--thin but very long. All of from the Southern Long Leaf Pine Trees. No needles here in AZ except very short ones. Earl

Seeing things done in different mediums is a thrill in it's self.I never knew how basket were done.Nice work!

That is very neat.  I have seen pine needle baskets on the internet and always thought that would be neat to try.  I have a big pine tree like a Ponderosa  and every year when I rake up the needle I think about trying it.  Then I burn them and think, next year. I do not think I would have the patient for it. 

 

You done very neat work of it.  Thanks for posting.  Hope you will post more pictures in the future.
