Maybe this isn't the place to put this but here is my first Gimp portrait. I am interested in comments from the very talented folks on this site. I am pleased with it in general but question the left ear, maybe to much detail? Also think I might have been to ambitious in the hair. At any rate I'm learning and would appreciate any and all comments.

Looks like you did a great job on it to me. Once you get it cut, I think you'll really like it. As far as the left ear, I would make the lines a bit thinner. The outline doesn't have to go all of the way around either. A lot of times I just hint at the ear. Maybe a little outline along the top and around the ear lobe. But the way you have it now will work nicely. Just thin up the lines and what you have now will work nicely. Good job!

You did a great job there Gary, Like Travis said a bit thinner lines around the ear and it will look good when cut.

I always start with the eyes when doing a portrait pattern, the eyes are the most important its what people look at first [the windows of the soul] .you can do a great job on a portrait, the hair, nose, mouth but if you get the eyes wrong it will not look right. If you get stuck you know where we are. Post a pic when you cut it................Paul :)
