Around the corner Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 Hi all I have been away for a few months due to a unexpected bypass surgery. Tough thing to go through but getting a little better everyday. My niece asked me to do a 50th wedding portrait but I havent mastered the gimp program yet as I fell sick but if anybody has a little free time I was wondering if you can get me going. I try to get to the garage for a couple of hours everyday when I have the energy so this project will get me going if someone is willing Thanks so much Damian Quote

Frank Pellow Posted January 28, 2016 Report Posted January 28, 2016 Roly, did this take you a long time to do or is it fairly straightforward and quick using Gimp? Since your turn-around time was so fast, I assume that it was not a great deal of time for you. My 50th wedding anniversary is coming up soon and I don't think that I have the time to learn Gimp before it happens. That being the case, would you entertain a request to creat a pattern for me to use from a photo that I would supply? If you are willing to undertake this, I will make a suitable donation to the charity of your choice. Quote

Frank Pellow Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Thanks Roly, I really appreciate that! Now I am trying to pick a photo and I don't know if the photo that I have in mind will even work for this type of thing. I'm attaching a photo of the two of us taken at Niagara Falls I n the hope that it will be OK. If that photo won't work well, just what characteristics should I be looking for in a photo that is to be used a the source of a scroll saw pattern? Quote

Wasn't easy very grainy, so this is the best I could do perhaps the others might have a go to give you a choice. Edited January 29, 2016 by Phantom Scroller amazingkevin 1 Quote
Frank Pellow Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 (edited) Thanks for the effort and for the very fast turnaround Roly. Except for Margaret's mouth, it looks good to me. I will see if I can fix that. I'm afraid that it is likely that all the photos I have from the 1960s are likely to be grainy. I will look for something better but I have my doubts that I will find anything. Edited January 29, 2016 by Frank Pellow Quote

Frank Pellow Posted January 29, 2016 Report Posted January 29, 2016 Roly, thanks for doing that. It may not be your best, but I like it and I am sure that Margaret will too. Phantom Scroller 1 Quote
