WolfyPete Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 well I got sorted so that I could try out my scroll saw at last. I think maybe I should of started with an easier pattern for a first go but never mind. I've not cleaned it up before taking this pic. I used the blade that was in the machine when I unpacked it. I think maybe I should of used a finer one for the turns, but I am happy with it considering tomsteve, Scrolling Steve, amazingkevin and 2 others 5 Quote
rdatelle Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 A little sanding it will look good. Try a #2 puzzle blade from Mikes workshop or a # 3 reverse. I've cut out a few out of oak with a #3 and didn't have to sand it at all. Very clean cut. Don't cut to fast either. Let the saw do the work. Practice makes perfect. Good luck. WolfyPete 1 Quote
penquin Posted January 31, 2016 Report Posted January 31, 2016 Great start, and after sanding and finish it should really pop. Nice looking work. jim penquin WolfyPete 1 Quote

Lucky2 Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Well Pete, for what you used for a blade, I think you did an excellent job. Len Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Nice start Peter. A #3 blade will cut that puzzle very nicely. Especially in pine. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Quote
wombatie Posted February 1, 2016 Report Posted February 1, 2016 Well the way I see it is, all the legs are there and you didn't cut any ears off, so therefore it must be good. For your first time it looks great and things can only get better from here.  Marg Quote
