oldhudson Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 Most mornings I walk a mile or two. Today it was 4° and there was a stiff wind so it was....'bracing'. On the plus side the sun was out for a change and we got a light coating of snow last night so there was loads of sparkle with the sun bouncing off the new snow. I wasn't sure if I should be worried about sunburn or frostbite. Scrolling Steve 1 Quote
Scrappile Posted February 12, 2016 Report Posted February 12, 2016 Beautiful day here in S.E. Washington, 52' and sunny. Giving me Spring Fever. Quote
dgman Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 It was in the mid 80's here in Southern California! Quote
orangeman Posted February 13, 2016 Report Posted February 13, 2016 Still some snow that hasn't melted here in North Georgia. We moved to the sunny south in 1971 and it still amazes me how cold it gets here. Didn't expect that. In the late 70's, early 80's it didn't get above freezing for a whole week one winter and got down to -9F one night. Had to go to the hardware store for plumbing lessons so I could fix some busted copper pipes. Frozen pipes in an inside wall no less. No plumbers available then for weeks. Quote

If you get a real cold snap and you're worried about pipes breaking just let the water run, just a trickle - moving water is much less likely to freeze. While the Mississippi freezes here most winters, I'd never drive on it. Quote
