  1. Excellent idea! My wife said the same thing. However, shipping would be an extra $7.75 via USPS priority mail. I was thinking of charging $5-6 per piece. Not sure if folks would buy when they had to pay for shipping too. Whatya think? bb
  2. Wow! Thanks for sending. The "e's" have it by a mile! bb
  3. I've been thinking about making name trains as Steve Good has a free pattern for same. Now here is the dilemma : If I wanted to sell 20 name trains at a craft show, how many of each letter should I take? Below pic is from Steve's website: .http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2010/05/alphabet-train-scroll-saw-pattern-all.html bb
  4. I can think of 3 things to check: blade alignment - you have already checked. blade sharpness - dull blades will cause your problem. Type of blade - #3 FD UR may not be appropriate. I had the same problem cutting hard maple with FD blades many years ago. So I called Mike and sent him wood samples. He had the same problem. Then I switched to Pegas modified geometry blades and have not looked back. Try Pegas #5 modified geometry blades. If that blade doesn't work on your project I don't know what would work. bb
  5. Is that for swipe and chip? I had a bad experience last year with PayPal on a card I swiped. The chip wouldn't work so I swiped and it worked. customer challenged the purchase. payPal would not cover my back. So I lost $20 on the sale PLUS the $20 charge back fee. The payPal chip reader I have is the pits. So I canned payPAl at craft shoes and now only use Square chip reader. If chip won't work - then tough! The % of cc sales vs cash keeps going up. One show I had last year had cc sales at 95% of sales!
  6. Every Friday we had those nasty fishsticks for school lunch. Often referred to them as sewer trout
  7. A unique way to display a puzzle!
  8. I use food colors but it has taken me 9 years to perfect the technique! Not something I can spell out in a couple paragraphs. I invite you to some see my colored puzzles at the Fairhope, AL Arts and Craft show - March 20-22, 2020. bb www.pickenspuzzles.com
  9. I looked at the Guinevere and it is too fast. Will burn cherry! I used to use a variable speed lathe with drill chuck but now use a Rikon low speed grinder with drill chuck so I can use the 3M sanding disks. bb
  10. Scott is absolutely correct! And I would not go to the #7 Pegas mg blade if you want to do tight turns. And be sure to lubricate the blade with packaging tape on the wood.
  11. Denny, last weekend I did a small one day show in our community and sold 2 AL, 2 GA, and 1 TX State Wildlife Puzzles. Then a few days later I got orders for 6 more! I have TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, Fl, NC, SC, TN, KY and VT. Priced from $46-$54 depending on complexity of the state outline and # of animals. I will do an a new state if I have prepaid orders for 5 or more as it takes time to design the state tray and fit the animals - many times having to add different animals. bb
  12. Denny, I keep meaning to come up and see you but there's always something.......! I live in N. GA - not too far away. Very nice plaque. Is it selling well for you? I created a TN Wildlife puzzle several months ago at a request from someone in KY. Do you think it would sell in your shop? pricing? Cheers, bb
  13. Kevin, What you witnessed is not at all unusual. Merely another cat scan. bb
  14. A friend of mine uses this system: https://www.laminationplus.com/298/i-bar-shrink-wrap-machines/24-deluxe-super-sealer-shrinkwrap-gun-model-ss-24ds.htm Can get complete system including gun and roll of shrink wrap for around $300. I'm debating whether to get this system or just buy some bags and a gun. bb
  15. Very nice work of art. And beautiful handwriting. What did you use to sign with? bb
  16. Scott, I recently saw your video of shrink wrapping that another person posted. Can you please tell me where you buy the bags and what kind of heat gun you use? And, why did you choose the bag method vs the roll, sealer, and gun mthd? Thanks, bb bb
  17. Can you please tell me the brand name/model # of your sealer, gun, and roll of shrink wrap?thanks, bb
  18. Oh NO! Just received word that Home Depot is shipping my saw from OH to a GA Home Depot nearby via UPS. I hope it survives the journey and is in working order when I pick it up. bb
  19. What a difference a day makes! Now available and still at $299! Should be able to pick up in a day or so! Will pick up saw at Home Depot and then take the old Delta to a service center 10 miles away. Miracles do happen Like a previous poster I had my eye on a Pegasus but just can't justify the extra $500. bb
  20. I have not had good luck with shipment of scroll saws via UPS or FEDEX. They are pretty rough in handling. Although the price is right, the first seller (ToledoSells) does not accept returns. I'm on Home DePots watch list for the saw and hopefully it will be available. I see that my local Lowe's offers the same saw but over $400. Lowe;s used to honor Home Depots price but probably not in this case as it is presently unavailable from Home Depot. bb
  21. You are LUCKY!!!!!!! My Delta just gave out after 16 months of almost daily use. Still under the 5 year warranty but I need a saw now. Went to the Home Depot site this AM and: Out of stock online Not sold in stores bb
  22. EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Since I won't be doing any Cary, NC shows I have a tip for you: COLOR sells!!!!!!!!!!! Take a look at my website - www.pickenspuzzles.com - My #1 seller is the snail puzzle with numbers! Colored dinos sell well also. bb
  23. 1. None of the FD blades equivalent to Pegas in my opinion. 2. Switched to Pegas 5 years ago. My favorite is the #5 RT Modified Geometry blade. Will use #3 for fine work on 3/4" hardwoods. 3. I buy from D&D - PA. 4. However, I only cut 3/4" hardwoods. bb
  24. And there was a lady from Australia there! bb
