  1. The next Association of Games and Puzzles International (AGPI) will be APR/MAY 2020 in the Washington, DC area. The next Puzzle Parley will be in Sturbridge, MA July 24-26, 2020. http://www.gamesandpuzzles.org/index.php http://www.puzzleparley.org/ Puzzle Parleys are where jigsaw puzzle collectors, cutters and just plain enthusiasts get together for one weekend. Founded in 1994, one is usually held every two years. I attended the AGPI 2019 Denver convention last weekend and it was fun, fun, fun. Some great tours too! One at Liberty Puzzles in Boulder. Very impressive operation! bb
  2. I've heard nothing but good reports on the Pegas saw. I see where Woodcraft now sells the Pegas saw. I saw their online ad. There was some delay re availability and it is shipped to your home. Not sure if they will carry it in their stores. bb

  9. Thanks for the advice. Not presently in the market for a new saw but when my Delta bites the dust I will definitely consider a Pegas saw. Also if I get into bowls because of the tilting head. QTE's website says they sold all 60 of their original allotment. Next shipment is June. Looks like they are selling well. bb
  10. I just checked D&D website and the Pegas saw is not there. Did you get a good deal? bb

  18. Very nice Steve. I bet it is stunning in African mahogany! Did you sand the eyes at all to eliminate the sharp edges? I made one out of walnut and showed it to a friend. My sanding job wasn't too hot on the eyes so he took a 1/8" round over router bit to it and improved the appearance a lot. I'm off to Home Depot today to get the 1/8 bit! I'm going to make some for my next craft show. Can't decide on the pricing however. Any suggestions? bb
  19. I get requests all the time for truck puzzles at craft shows and there isn't much out there. Also our local Toys for Tots Program wants trucks and puzzles! Found some time this week to design a dump truck puzzle. My guess is it will appeal to 5-9 yr old boys. My next project is to design a simpler pattern for the 3 yr old kids. bb
  20. I have been using a 3 M fine sanding wheel in a Delta variable speed lathe to sand all my puzzle pieces. Lathe is set to 1750 rpm as it won't burn cherry at that rpm. Then I discovered I had a slow speed bench grinder which is 1725 rpm. Purchased from Woodcraft several years ago for under $100. So I ordered a 5/8" - 11 drill chuck and it fits perfectly on the grinder!!!!!! I tested it today with great results. I will now use the slow speed grinder for sanding puzzle pieces!!!!! And will put the Delta midi lathe up for sale. Was considering the Foredom variable speed sanding lathe but no need now. bb
  21. I stain baltic birch all the time using minwax stains and then a clear coat sealer. bb
  22. check out Lisa and Ed's eyes for lures. http://lisaandedseyes.ipage.com/ bb
  23. Going on 9 months on the Delta blade screws. And I use the saw a lot. Better life than the DeWalt 788 screws. bb
  24. Yup, had the Carpal Tunnel deal years ago. BUT, do to pruning too many apple and peach trees. Plus potting up cacti and succulents in the greenhouse. CT surgery in the early 90's. Been scrolling since 2000 and no problems yet. And I am in production mode big time with puzzles. Wear out a DeWalt 788 in 12 months. The biggest problem is sanding re CT - still no symptoms yet. bb
  25. Key of See? bb
