Fish Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 I made it to only my second wood show ever. I had a lot of fun and bought a few things. One thing I got was a band saw stabilizer by Carter Products. I have never seen such an amazing part to add to your saw until now. It is very easy to install on your saw and I worked on three band saw boxes tonight. I was able to do parts to them in a quarter of the time. Amazing tight turns using a 3/16 Accuright blade and getting a very fine cut. They are a little expensive but worth the money, this one cost $80 for one for a 14" Jet saw. The blades were $22. If anyone is interested they have a Carter Products website. tomsteve and Falcon 2 Quote

kywoodmaster Posted February 16, 2016 Report Posted February 16, 2016 Do these require a special blade or will any size/ brand fit? Quote
Fish Posted February 16, 2016 Author Report Posted February 16, 2016 I bought two carter blades but you can use any brand. The blade I bought was a 931/2" AccuRight 3/16" .025 thick. skip tooth, 4 tpi. Quote

Band saws are not the best for scroll saw like precision so any help you can get for your band saw will be time and fingers saved. One product i really liked was a gizmo that lets you load your blade so that when you pull out of a cut the blade can in no way come off the wheels they ride on. Fish Posted February 17, 2016 Author Report Posted February 17, 2016 This one works with that too. You can pull right out from your cuts with no problem. Quote
