jblock9907 Posted March 9, 2016 Report Posted March 9, 2016 Ever watch a sporting event when the National Anthem is played? Most of the players, as well as some of the coaches don't really Honor America like they should. The Viginia Tech basketball coach did something about it. Some one told me that it was all over facebook so you may have already seen it http://asmdss.com/video/sick-of-anthem-disrespect-virginia-techs-coach-brought-hokies-face-to-face-with-veterans LarryEA, spoth28, Scrolling Steve and 1 other 4 Quote

bandaideman Posted March 10, 2016 Report Posted March 10, 2016 What a coach. I have noted for last several years the respect of the National Anthem and the American flag has been decreasing. It is great the coach realized there was somehting missing when the anthem was played. Having served in the Army and a father who served in WW II (he is still alive) I have tears in my eyes when the anthem is played not because it is the anthem and all it represents but the disrespect I see from the young people, parents and other adults and they do not even know that it shows disrespect. Off my soap box. Sorry. I am very proud of the coach and will send this on. spoth28 1 Quote
jblock9907 Posted March 10, 2016 Author Report Posted March 10, 2016 Not very long ago in the City of Colton, a school student decided he didn't have to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance. The teacher said something it got blown all out of proportion and the school issued a formal apology to the kid. Then they got really mad at me because I told them I stand with the kid. He should not have to stand for the Pledge. In fact, his parents should take him to Riverside National Cemetery and thank all of those who gave him that right. Needless to say, the last part didn't go over very well. Quote
