breadstick Posted April 14, 2016 Report Posted April 14, 2016 I'm making a plaque for a friend and I'm gluing half a plastic football helmet to the wood. I cut a groove for it to fit into, but I'm worried about the glue. I have Titebond III and Gorilla 2-part epoxy. Is one of these better than the other? Quote
Bill WIlson Posted April 14, 2016 Report Posted April 14, 2016 I would probably use either a CA glue or an epoxy, or even a combination. I would definitely not use Titebond III. I think Titebond is best suited for wood to wood applications. Quote
oldhudson Posted April 14, 2016 Report Posted April 14, 2016 Epoxy or CA with an accelerator. Scrolling Steve 1 Quote

grosa Posted April 15, 2016 Report Posted April 15, 2016 (edited) J-B WELD 8265-S Epoxy Adhesive, Cold Weld, works great for that type of application. You do need to rough up the surface for a good mechanical bond. Edited April 15, 2016 by grosa Quote
edward Posted April 16, 2016 Report Posted April 16, 2016 I did one last year of a wedding heart and used welbond glue, dries clear, and make sure you clamp the pieces together, never had a problem. edward Quote
