wombatie Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 I bit the bullet today and ordered myself a new computer. This one is old and it was reconditioned when I got it. It is so slow and still running XP and not much is compatible with XP any more. I know I will have a love hate relationship with the new one for at least 6 months but it will be worth it. kywoodmaster Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 Congrats on the new toy. Not sure about your tax laws but that would be a business deduction for me, Good luck with the new operating system. Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 Congrats Marg.....You will feel at home with the new one very soon! Quote
meflick Posted July 25, 2016 Report Posted July 25, 2016 Congratulations on your new toy - errr tool. One thing I hate is having to get a new computer - or updating the OS. We tend to be creatures of habit. I have a newer one - running Windows 8. Hated Windows 8 when I first got it. Still haven't updated to Windows 10. Have to decide if I am doing it while I can still get that "update" for free or not. (Heard that is going away soon.) wombatie 1 Quote

I always hate new computers but there were just too many things not excepting XP anymore and the fact that it was so old anyway. I know I will cry a lot and shout at it WHY DID I DO IT, but it will all be worth it in the end. Marg Quote

Guess I better decide and go ahead and maybe bite the bullet but one of my objections is that I understood that when you go to 10, you then have no control over future updates - they occur automatically rather you want them or not. At least that is one thing others noted on another forum I am on. What to do - what to do. wombatie 1 Quote
