I got the Olson sanding belts I ordered and have used one of them. They have grit on one side and the grit faces toward you. The part you clamp to is plastic so I don't know how long that part will last. They do work well on outside edges or inside edges that are large. I don't think they are any better than the ones I made. In fact I like the ones I made a little better. The one I made have grit on both sides which is a plus I think. The one I made the grit faces to the left and right and there is no down side to this. The bottom line is while the Olson belts work well I prefer the ones I make and won't buy any more Olson belts.

PS - Another thing about the Olson belts is I don't think you can replace the belt with a new belt when you wear it out.

Thanks for the info.  The ones you made are sand paper glued to a saw blade. right?  Could take a couple pliers and teist the ends of the blade so the paper faces forward??

Here is how I made them Paul.
