  1. Hey Denny, can you sand me a link for the blade I need? It would help a lot. Thanks, Don.
  2. It's been a long time since I did any scrolling. I was pretty happy with how it turned out, even tho I made a bad mistake. Frank, Padauk is a very hard wood, but it's is pretty and that what we wanted.
  3. I made my grandson a chess board and now he wants me to make him the chess men. He wants the chess men to be made of padauk and hard maple. I made the king yesterday out of padauk and it was a bear to cut. To cut this I used the # 5 Pegas (MGT) Blades. It took me over 2 hours and about 8 blades. The king is 3 3/4" tall and 1 1/4" at the base. Here is a picture of the king I cut. I will have to do this over because there is a bad mistake on the other side.
  4. I really like the first sign. You did a great job. I like what John said. Put the money in a jar.
  5. The Pegas MG is all I use and never had one to break. I will say it's been a while since I ordered.

    Excalibur EX-16

I bought a DW 788 from Woodcraft wanting an EX all the time. The lady at the store said it was a better saw. I took it home and something was wrong with it. It made a lot of noise so I took it back and traded it in for an EX 16 and never looked back. So far I love it.
  7. I don't have any trouble with red oak but white oak is a different story.
  8. Brian it's a really nice thing y'all making those puzzles for the kids.
  9. Len I did like you and bought my stand at HF. I have an EX16.
  10. I have glued 1/8" pieces together and it came out nice. One thing to get them to come out right is don't clamp them very tight. I think using the wedges would be enough.
  11. Len I would think it wouldn't make any difference. I think this part of the forum would be the best place to put it as 90% of the time this is the only part I look at.
  12. I wish we had a Menards here in TN. I have bought from them on the net and they seem to have some good deals.
  13. Rocky I would fire that guy if I was running that store. It sure leaves a bad taste in your mouth doesn't it?
  14. Axminster has a lot of tools for sale in the Australia and maybe other countries. I have seen that brand on You Tube.
  15. Hey I like them to. Where did you get the patterns? I would like some for Christmas.
  16. I don't use the guard/hold down so I hold the wood down with my fingers. If you get go even for a split second the wood will jump. I bet that 99& of the people here don't use the hold down. Just hold the wood down with your fingers.
  17. William I bought some ash today. If I remember right it was about $1.90 a bf. I am excited to see how it does and looks.
  18. Denney I remember your post on that display piece. That could work for a lot of things. You will do well with it.
  19. That is what I was going to say.
  20. Berry can you get someone to turn the table while you watch what is going on? It must be under the table or you could see it your self. I have an EX but I have not turned the table.
  21. Paul what a great opportunity for both of you. Looks like a lot of fun. As far as who gets the piece when finished I think y'all should make two of them. They could be alike or be different.
  22. Runa that is nice. I mean they are real nice. You could finish them with Watco Danish Oil that you can but at a big box store. I also like Bullseye spray shellac in a can. Just put 2 or 3 light coats on and your through.
  23. Runa I have bought good plywood from the company in the link below. This plywood has no voids in the middle or edges. I think the grade is called " 3B " and is clear on both sides. I also buy " 4B " grade which is a grade down from a local supplier for $24 for a 60"X60" of 3/4" plywood. They also have 1/4", 3/8", 1/2" for sale. They also have hard woods that I mill to size. http://www.ocoochhardwoods.com/ https://www.wolstenholme.com/plywood-products/baltic-birch/grading/
  24. Very good Ed.
  25. Rocky I buy mine the same place Iggy does.
