  1. I do have a problem with atheist and would never cut anything related to them.
  2. Thanks for the very good review. I hope you will come back and add to it pretty soon. I might be interested in this saw. Don
  3. I have been looking and looking for this post. I now realize I posted it in the wrong place. (Dang I hate getting old) I appreciate all the posts so far. I am hoping it will not come to doing that but the out look isn't good. I just don't don't to wind up doing nothing except watching TV. As long as I can stay active with something I like to do I will be happy. Don
  4. Due to neuropathy in my feet I may want to do scroll sawing inside the house. Can this be done without making a mess with getting dust everywhere. Are anyone doing this or know someone that is doing it. If you have any knowledge on what needs to be done please let me know. Don
  5. Al a 32 TPI might work real good. I tried a 18TPI and that wasn't much punkin.
  6. Len I give everything I make away. You see I can do what I want when I want. Now ain't that nice? Don
  7. I make wood signs by carving them out with a router. As a lot of you do I get by patterns from the internet and need to cut the excess paper off before I glue it to the wood. I saw this simple tool on the net the other day and I made me one and it works great. I also use it to cut sheets of sand paper into smaller pieces. It's just a hacksaw blade [24 TPI" works best screwed to a board. Be sure and put a flat washer between the board and the hacksaw blade so you will be able to get you pattern or your sheet of sand paper under the blade. Once you get what you are going to cut in place hold the blade down with one hand and tear away with the other. Use the side that has teeth to tear sand paper and the other side to tear paper. Here is an example of one of the signs I have made.
  8. I saw this little dust collector on Seyco's web site. Do any of you use this and if you do what do you think. I have a shop vac but I don't think it would last long because of running it for long periods. I also have a Grizzly 1.5 HP dust collector but that might be to big. Thanks Don http://seyco.com/dv-10a-cyclonic-action-scroll-saw-dust-collector/
  9. Nice looking apron John. A one of a kind I would say. Don
  10. I haven't got a scroll saw yet so you can arrive at at your opinion about what I say. I went to their website and for that kind of money I would never buy a brand that most people haven't heard of. A more popular brand in that price range would be the Dewalt 788 and the EX 16. If you ever decided to sell the PS it would be very hard to get much for it.
  11. Mary I am new to scrolling so I can't answer you question. As to staining always test on a like piece of wood tell you get it right. It's really not that hard if you test first. Welcome
  12. I am still waiting on my first scroll saw. I bought it on Ebay and I am afraid it might have been a scam as I have heard nothing from the seller. Back to your question. I saw on You Tube a review done by Steve Good on the Porter Cable scroll saw. He seem to think it was a pretty good machine for the price. You might take some time and look on Craigs List. In a lot of cases it takes a lot of time. I have been looking for a long time.
  13. Still haven't got my SS but I have been watching Steve Goods videos on YT. He is a good teacher.
  14. I have heard of Flying Dutchman blades. My best friend is from Lawrenceburg Tn. He lives here now and works at Nissan in Smyrna.
  15. I just bought a new Dwalt 788 today and I guess it will be a few days before I get it. I have been doing wood working for a long time but never used a scroll saw so I need help. "BAD" I don't know about blades. I do know I need to buy a foot pedal. Where would be the best place to learn what I need to know on this forum?
