  1. Tony it didn't take you long to get good at making pens. I just got a catalog from Penn State. What kind of lathe do you have?
  2. I don't see how you do it. I would have broken pieces everywhere. Thanks for posting.
  3. They are all beautiful. Thanks for posting.
  4. Great job Clayton. First place is all they could give you. I know without seeing the rest your had to win.
  5. As some of you remember I bought a new DW 788 saw on Ebay for $400 shipped but never got it. That is the bad news. Now for the good news. Ebay returned all my money and the seller is no longer on Ebay. Just wanted to let everyone know the out come. I know people have different opinions about Ebay but I didn't want anyone to think bad about them because of what I posted.
  6. Looks like this could be of some help to those that need them. Do they sell them here in the USA? If they do you might post a link so members would know where to buy them.
  7. I bought the DW 788 because I couldn't buy an EX. I kike my DW but I am new to scrolling so I don't know the difference.
  8. Right now I am using a short piece of 2X4 with an earth magnet screwed to it. I just stick it ti where it's handy. I might try what Rusty does and tighten the screw.
  9. Very nice. I will have to check that site out.
  10. Edward thank you. I appreciate your help.
  11. Amen John; That about says it all on feeding.
  12. So you think it's the same glue?
  13. Scott it says you can get it but I am not sure. On Amazon they have a lot of ads saying "not available". Also there is the price. It is way above what glue ought to cost. I think I will call tomorrow and see if I can get more information.
  14. Great job Larry. That is one thing I want to try soon.
  15. Great job Dick. That was always my dream car. I guess you can't have everything.
  16. Your work is awesome. The humming bird is the one I like best.
  17. I have been using a 12 ounce white bottle and need more. All I seem to find now is a blue bottle and it's 14.2 ounces. Thought maybe some of you used this glue and could help me out. I really like WB and hope they haven't changed it. Not to worry I use Tite Bond also.
  18. Bobby like everyone else I think you did a great job. I have a question. What kind of Baltic Birch are you using? You know there is the kind that you buy at Home Depot and the kind that comes from Russia "I think".
  19. Roly they are a foot ball team.
  20. Wow Roly that looks great. I agree with Lawson. Golden oak.
  21. I think the 127mm will be just fine. I have the Dewalt 788 saw and even a little shorter than 127mm would work. You could also measure by sticking a thin piece of cardboard in there and marking it then measuring it after you take it out. In reality I don't think you will have a problem. PS- Welcome to a great place to learn and have fun.
  22. As an example; If a pattern has a circle as on the outside of some trivets. Do you cut that circle with a router or what ever? Of coarse this may not be cheating just good working.
  23. Danny I got a free table with my Dewalt 788 but it was to high for me to sit and work. I went to Harbor Freight and bought this one. Be sure and get a coupon on line if you go this route. http://www.harborfreight.com/universal-tool-stand-69805.html
  24. Don I have seen some that don't even tell you how big it is. I am just starting out so a suggestion by the pattern maker on how thick the wood or what kind of wood or even finish. Some old folks need a little help getting across the street. I did down load Steve Goods patterns yesterday and it looks like I might make some of those. (Or try)
  25. Charley I have been admiring you work for a long time time on the "Router Forum". Thanks for a great post. PS - In fact I think you might be the one that got me into this scrolling.
