DonR Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 I have run into a problem with the Inkscape fonts and cannot figure it out. This problem has just started recently for some unknown reason. When I select any font and go to type on my page the font changes. It seems like a certain font (in this case Black Rose) has been set as a default. No matter which font I choose, it always types in Black Rose. Any idea how to correct this? Don R Quote
Rob Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Don, I'm not sure but you can change the default font from the Text and Font box. Press Ctrl+Shift+T or select Text then Text and Font from the drop down menu. Hopefully changing it back to your preferred font will work. Rob Phantom Scroller 1 Quote
DonR Posted October 6, 2016 Author Report Posted October 6, 2016 Thankx Rob. I did that but it doesn't help. It just reverts to that font. Quote
heppnerguy Posted October 6, 2016 Report Posted October 6, 2016 Don, When you are in Inkscape you can use the 'select' button and then click on your text.. Does not matter what font you are in. onece you have it selected go up the tool bar on the top and select the large 'T'. that well open a new box with all your fonts on the right side.. scroll down tothe one you w ish and click on it. then on the bottom right you will see a small box that says 'apply' Click on it and then the box next to it that says Close. that will take you back to what you are working on and change the text to the one you want.. Hope this helps Dick heppnerguy Quote

I just want to get back to being able to select my font and then typing in that font which was the way it worked for years. Don R Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted October 7, 2016 Report Posted October 7, 2016 I would delete the program and download a new latest version and see it it works and that will tell you if it's the program issue or a virus on your system. Quote

Done that. I have tried both versions but with the same result. Also when I save the document, the font reverts back to the Black Rose. Weird?? Phantom Scroller 1 Quote

Weird?? Don, I don't understand why that is happening for you.. I just went onto my Inkscape and selected a font and it stayed on that selected font until I manually changed it. My fonts, when signing on it always the uppermost on the font list. Dick heppnerguy Quote
