I have run into a problem with the Inkscape fonts and cannot figure it out. This problem has just started recently for some unknown reason. When I select any font and go to type on my page the font changes. It seems like a certain font (in this case Black Rose) has been set as a default. No matter which font I choose, it always types in Black Rose. Any idea how to correct this?

Don,

When you are in Inkscape you can use the 'select' button and then click on your text.. Does not matter what font you are in. onece you have it selected go up  the tool bar on the top and select  the large 'T'. that well open a new box with all your fonts on the right side.. scroll down tothe one you w ish and click on it. then on the bottom right you will see a small box that says 'apply'  Click on it and then the box next to it that says Close.  that will take you back to what you are working on and change the text to the one you want..

Hope this helps

Yea, It used to be that I would select my font and begin typing. It would type in that font. Now suddenly, I have to go through these other steps. I just want to get back to being able to select my font and then typing in that font which was the way it worked for years.

I would delete the program and download a new latest version and see it it works and that will tell you if it's the program issue or a virus on your system.

Done that. I have tried both versions but with the same result. Also when I save the document, the font reverts back to the Black Rose. Weird??

Don,

I don't understand why that is happening for you.. I just went onto my Inkscape and selected a font and it stayed on that selected font until I manually changed it. My fonts, when signing on it always the uppermost on the font list.
