Long story but in a nutshell, I bought the original which was a 40-690 from Amazon .com on sale with the light and stand for something like $300.I think about 3 years or so ago. I had a few problems with it and finally about a year or so ago they replaced it with a 40-694 because they couldn't supply a replacement motor for the original. This one came with very dry bearings but once I got that sorted, no other problems. Don R

Mine came with the light. They have a six year limited warranty and they are direct drive. The upper arm lifter is a nice feature. I really like mine and have used the warranty without any problems Don R
