Pattern making question

Lets say you have a black and white picture is there a way with Gimp 2.8 to reverse the black and white...?

 

What was black is now white and vise versa...?

Here at the Village, we are family, it doesn't matter where you're from, what you believe in,

We share a common goal which is this great hobby we call "scrolling" and other woodworking methods

We share what we know, and by being such a big family there is always someone that comes to the rescue
