Awesome work and awesome pattern. Is there anyway I can get my hands on this pattern....? With my sister's birthday coming up next month I would love to get my hands on this pattern to cut for her. She goes nuts for all Native American things. How can I go about purchasing this pattern...? Great craftsmanship. Beautiful cutting. My hats off to Fish for an excellent pattern. Ciao Bronx

This is from his website. Information: The Woodworking Show, Atlanta. I just wanted to remind everyone in the Atlanta area. I will be a guest of the Gwinnett Woodworkers Association at The Woodworking Show March 31 - April 2 2017. If you are in the area I would love to have a chance to meet you. I will be in the Gwinnett Woodworkers booth each day. Please stop and say hi. This is tentative but I think I will be able to have one of the soon to be released Seyco Scroll saws that everyone is waiting to see, at the show. I'll be getting a pre-production demo model very soon. I have permission to bring the saw to the show. We just have to work out the details. I'm pretty sure I will have it in time. This alone would be worth coming to the show for. The Seyco Scroll Saw has the potential to be a very significant player in our hobby. Anyone looking to upgrade their saw in the near future should wait for the details on the Seyco Scroll Saw before you make a purchase. We are hopefully going to see the machine shipping in April. I will have a comprehensive review of the machine just as soon as I can put some hours on it. http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/ I hope this helps.

My understanding is that Steve Good is going to be at the Atlanta Woodworking Show all three days. I was thinking if the woodworkers that would like to head out to his event maybe we can meet up and give Steve Good a good solid handshake and a gigantic THANK YOU for all he does for us scroll saw artist. I believe that a very high percentage of folks that started scroll sawing in recent years started out with a Steve Good pattern. I know I sure did. Also we can stroll around for an hour or two and look and wish for all the cool things that will be present at this show. I will be attending on Saturday April 1st, 2017. If anyone on here will like to join me lets get something set up like a time and a place we can meet at the show. Like the food stands or restroom area, etc. We can put a live body to the work that is being showed here at the Village. http://www.thewoodworkingshows.com/atlanta.html Anyway thanks for taking the time to read this. Maybe we'll meet at the show. Ciao Bronx

You are truly a master craftsman at your work. An artist at scroll sawing. You are the scroll saw artist that keep folks like myself keep coming back and try to reach the level of work you put forth. Like Dave Monk stated "How in the world will you even price that". Wow I can't stop looking at it. It's magical. Marg's Sinatra's portrait work had the same effect on my staring. Maybe because my mother love Frank so much. Awesome work. Just friggin awesome.....! Ciao Bronx

Ahhh man you guys are awesome. Thanks to you guys for taking time out of your busy day to get me on the right track in making these miter cuts. Here is the problem that I failed to mention in my original post. I'm making a box, my first box. it's 7in high and a foot wide. I think I'm stuck with my chop saw tilted at a 45%. So my understanding is to get the most out of this cut I will have to use a miter blade. I can't seem to find one that states "miter blade". I found many that state "finishing blade" that "fits" chop saws which I have. I will try an 80 tooth finishing blade. From what i'm reading from the responses I need one anyway. Thanks for your very informed responses. You guys are the best. Ciao Cliff

Hi all My question is, is there a difference between a miter blade and a finishing blade...? I'm looking to make some miter cuts on a dewalt chop saw. I'm looking to purchase a miter blade to cut picture frames and boxes at a 45 degree cuts. I just can't seem to local the miter blades. I was told that a high count finishing blade is the same thing. Before I go out and spend $80 bucks a blade I wanna make sure i'm getting the right blade for the job. Thanks in advance for reading my request. Thx bronx

I have been trying my hand at making pieces with clocks. My first attempt was the Patriot clock from Steve Goods line of patterns. The thickness of the wood was 3/8. The clock insert was 2 3/4 with a 2 3/8 Forstner bit, It fit perfect. A very nice tight fit. My second attempt a Jolly Rogers (Skull clock from Steve Good) 1/4 thick wood. The mini clock insert was 1 7/16 drilled with a 1 3/8 Forstner bit. The fix was perfect and very tight. I didn't like the way it came out and scrapped the project. Now here is the problem. I made a clock for a doctor from 1/2 piece of wood. I used the "same" mini clock insert from the Skull clock. 1 7/16 mini clock and drilled the hole with the same 1 3/8 Forstner bit and the mini clock will not fit. The whole is way to big. I used my drill press and clamped down the wood to stay in place. I tried different pieces of wood and something is just not right and I can't pin point where I am making the mistake at. I need help in finding out where my mistake lies. Thanks Ciao bronx I started over and scroll sawed the whole for the mini clock.

I agree Smyrna lumber yd is very pricey. I just thought I would give you another option while you was in the Kennesaw area on 1/8 BB. Your Texas puzzle looks awesome. Keep it scrolling and maybe one day i'll run into you at Peach State lumber yard in Kennesaw. Ciao Bronx

There is a place off of I285 exit 15 South Cobb dr. Go south and take your first right. They are on the right. I can't remember the name of the lumber yard. They sell 1/8 BB 5x5 sheets. Very pricey. I think they want like $25 bucks for a sheet. Matter of fact if you call peach state lumber they will tell you the name of that lumber yard.

I know. I can't seem to lay my hands on the Union Battle Flag. I put a modern day Flag just to show the customer what it will look like when it's done. The Flag is just resting between Grants and the pallet. I can unscrew and take the Flag down when I get a hold of a few Union Battle Flags. Thanks bring that to my attention. Ciao Bronx

I was asked to do six portraits of Civil War Generals. I have finished two and working on the rest. I had trouble finding one of them but two of our very best pattern makers helped me. I wanted to give the customer an idea how they would look. I got all the patterns here at the Village. Thanks to Sue Walker. To the one that almost go away. Thanks to Lawson56 and DonR for your help. What do you think so far....?

Paging all EX21 mechanics to the maintain's shop...please.
bronx replied to bronx's topic in General Scroll Sawing
Thanks all for chiming in. Like I stated in my post I did make them adjustments to the letter. It worked for awhile. I will call Ray. Thanks again. -
I have an EX21 which I brought off of Craig's list for an awesome price. I test ran it and all seem to be fine. I'm every new to this hobby so with that I thought the saw was fine...lol Anyways when I got the saw home I noticed the upper arm would not stay up. I thought maybe some thing came loose in transit. I read up on it and loosened up on the nut and tightened the screw. Re- tightened the nut and when on my merry way with cutting many of pieces without any problems. Now I have his squeal that is deafening when pulling up the arm or bring it back down. I tried to make another adjustment with the same nut and screw but i'm having no luck with at all. Sometimes it's so tight I can't even bring up the arm. I'm either stuck with the squeal or stuck without the arm staying up by itself. Either way this should not be taking place. Did I over tighten the screw and damage something...? Or could it be i'm just not adjusting it right...? Or am i totally looking in the wrong place to fix my EX21...? Has anyone encountered these problems...? If so how or where did you get it fix...? Thanks in advance for the replies Ciao Bronx.

Thanks I'm having a tough time with Gimp and Inkscape I don't need to add to it with a paid program. I think i'm going to start all over again with Travis's classes and take one step at a time and try to master what he has to teach. Sometimes I just a little crazy and impatience when things don't go as I expect him to. Also I have way to may ideas to keep asking the great pattern makers on here to take time out of their day when I have something I want done. Thanks for the info on this program and thanks to all that responded to my call for help. Now lets see if I can get an "A" in Travis's classes....LOL Thanks again Ciao Cliff
