Fish Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) Not woodwork but I had some fun with my dremel. I used a diamond tip...I did these when I thought my scroll saw was dead. Edited October 23, 2016 by Fish WigWag Workshop and Lucky2 2 Quote
New Guy Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 That is nice stuff. You should give us all classes on how to do these. WigWag Workshop 1 Quote
Scrolling Steve Posted October 23, 2016 Report Posted October 23, 2016 (edited) I like it !....Neat, do you use the dremel tip to etch the parts that you would leave if you were using the saw ?!? Edited October 23, 2016 by Scrolling Steve Quote
amazingkevin Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 Not woodwork but I had some fun with my dremel. I used a diamond tip...I did these when I thought my scroll saw was dead. Very interesting ,but tell all you did here??? Quote
dgman Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 You are multi talented Dan, very nice work! Quote
Lucky2 Posted October 24, 2016 Report Posted October 24, 2016 Dan, your a man with some amazing skills. These two pieces are outstanding, how do you do it without breaking the glass? That's what always happened to me, when I tried to engrave glass. I print and write with a heavy hand, I think that's my problem when working with glass. Len Quote
Fish Posted October 24, 2016 Author Report Posted October 24, 2016 (edited) Thanks. I left the black or what would be cut out and etched the parts of it that would be left if cut with the saw. I didn't touch the glass very hard it's like your drawing a picture. The faster it's set the quicker and easier it goes. I always wore a dust mask too. You tape the pattern on to the back of the glass and it's like your tracing a picture. Much easier than it sounds. Edited October 24, 2016 by Fish Quote
Ron Johnson Posted October 25, 2016 Report Posted October 25, 2016 Interesting... And very well done Dan. Like both pieces. Quote
meflick Posted October 25, 2016 Report Posted October 25, 2016 Looks very nice Dan. Thanks for sharing. Since you said you did while you "thought" your saw was dead - hope that means you thought wrong! Quote
Fish Posted October 26, 2016 Author Report Posted October 26, 2016 Thanks again. My saw wasn't broke. It ended up being one loose bolt. Works great now. Quote
Dan Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Awesome! Now, if I go around etching our windows, I'm pointing the finger at you. Quote
rjR Posted November 9, 2016 Report Posted November 9, 2016 Extremely nice and very delicate work! Quote
