My sister and I went to our first craft show on Saturday (will have another one in December). Sis sold tons of stuff like normal , me not so much. I talked to a lot of people and handed out a lot of cards and might have a connection with a cabinet maker for his cut offs. Here are the pictures and I have a video of it also. I will see if I can figure out how to upload it.

Scott, to do better at selling, you need to have more space and a greater selection of items. Your sister has lots of things to sell, and that takes up a lot of space. You'd be better off, if you had a table of your own. Her work is a distraction to yours, plus people will only see her stock over yours with yours being placed in the back like it was. Try to get a few Christmas items cut, to add to your stock for the next sale. And don't forget, the better the selection, the more you'll sell.

I totally agree with you on a greater selection of items. Sis is retired so she has all day every day to work on items. Me, I'm working 8-10 hours a day and really don't have the concentration to work on things after work. So that leaves me only the weekends to work on projects, but can't figure out which ones to work on.

Any suggestions on items that are good sellers at craft shows? I know it varies from location to location.

Thank you Kevin, what my plan has been all along was to mix in my photographs with my woodworking.

Melanie, some are bare wood and then others are clear stain on them to bring out the wood grain.

Len are you trying to say Sis out foxed him and gobbled up all the room? That is what it looked like to me.   :D

Jim you have 52 weeks until this show rolls around next year to build an inventory.

Take it from me. Starting out focus on quality and not quantity. As to what to make, create what your friends and neighbors would like. For example I had a coworker who loved humming birds. Guess what? Lots of folks love humming birds. I find wildlife items sell well in general. Simple puzzles also sell well. Christmas ornaments are also great sellers.
