Having trouble with a face

Can anyone help me? I'm trying to make a pattern of King Ezekiel from The Walking Dead, but there are NO high resolution pictures of him right now.  I got the best I could and made a pattern, but I just can't get much detail in the face.  I also can't get the legs to show up in the pattern because they're so dark and freehanding them isn't working, but I think I can live with that the way it is.

 

Does anyone think they can help?

I found a pretty decent picture on the internet and came up with this. It shouldn't be too difficult to complete.

Nice pattern Don, I messed with your requested image.  I'm not sure if its any better than yours or not.  I started to fill in some white and decided to let you do it.

different strokes for different folks ,Come clean ,Ya'll got way more hours experience than your will to tell,lol nice work on such a difficult picture .

Thank you guys.  Its close, but not what she wanted.  I'll try again once they release a high res picture I can work from.  I appreciate the help.

I'm currently working on this one and hope to have it finished in a couple of days. It certainly is challenging.

Done. It almost feels like I have redrawn the entire image. I found a larger copy of the image which made it easier to work with. There is going to be a lot of cutting and wood removal from this but you should be pleased when you do it, should you do it. Hope you like it.
