Good afternoon,

I remember reading some where about when cutting a picture puzzle, that before cutting you should spray the the picture with a finish to protect it, but i can think of what it is, Thx RJ

I've used Krylon Triple Thick Glaze. One coat puts a decent coating and doesn't discolor the ink. Some folks use Modge Podge but I don't think it's as durable. Others will chime in soon.

Thx for the information, I was watching a YouTube today and they say use deft, which I went to lowes web site and lacquer came up. The reason I thought of doing Puzzels was that they make great gifts, get a head start for next year, Thx RJ

I make puzzles out of Christmas cards.  After mounting the card on the wood (I use 3M Super 77 and spray both the wood and the card stock) I coat my cards with spray shellac.  I get the spray shellac at Lowes.  It works for me.  I have tried the spray lacquer and did not care for the finish.  I have not tried the Triple Glaze or Modge Podge that Dan mentioned.

I like to make puzzles and have used Krylon Triple Glaze or Spray Varnish I picked up at Lowes.  The spray varnish is more expensive but I can get it in satin finish which my wife much prefers on puzzles.   The glare of light on high gloss finishes bothers her.
