Dick, it's a good looking pattern, and I don't see any floaters in this one.

     Gee Len,

There is a first. Maybe, just maybe there is a glimmer of hope for me....Oh, come on Dick....don't be jumping to any premature conclusions.. Anyone can make a mistake and be correct once in awhile  Thanks again for your check of my pattern, Len

Dick, a glimmer of hope? I think there's a whole lot more then a glimmer, the patterns you have already posted are proof of that. Sure you may have had few issues, but you looked after them with quick fixes. Personally, I think that if you keep at it, that you will become a master pattern maker. What makes me think that, is what you choose to make patterns off of. For someone who is just starting out with pattern making, you're taking on some difficult subject matter. Not only taking on difficult subjects, but succeeding at making a pattern of each. There's much more then a glimmer of hope that you'll succeed, there's proof in the patterns you've already posted.

I decided to continue to try  different things as i go about trying to teach myself how to make patterns. Because of all the hair on this guy, I thought it would be an interesting thing to take on. So here is what I was able to come up with.  I am, as always, open to suggestions as to how to improve this or if it came out acceptable

I am with you Marg

I won't be cutting it either. This is not the type of pattern I wish to have on my wall either..I am just trying a variety of patterns so I can understand, eventually how to go about tackling anything I might like to make in the future. This has been a learning experience to say the least and I have to say, I am enjoying this journey into 2017 a lot, so far.

I like the pattern I have copied it and may cut for a friend I will probably add the hair strands to the leg lines just for simplicity of cutting and I will use veining blade to do the hairs to keep as much material as poss. Just out of interest what programme/s are you using to produce these patterns so the rest of us mere mortals may have a try :) Keep them coming and anyone who cuts one please post so we can see the finished article of dicks hard work.

In reply to your question about the program I am using, it is GIMP.   Check out Travis's tutorial in the university forum and give it a try. It is really not that difficult to learn. I have not even come close to mastering this program but for the meager patterns I have made so far, I am surprising myself that  I can do this. and so can you.. check it out, if after you view these you still don't seem to get it, drop me a PM and I will be happy to talk through enough to get you on your way... I love extending a helping hand to others, whenever I can
