Vector01 Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Back in November my wife started feeding one of many stray cats in the neighborhood. Long story short...The cat we named Jade adopted us (there's a twist). She was an outside cat and would rarely stay in the house more than a few hours. Just long enough to eat and have a nap. One day in December she came in with a large wound on her back. My wife took care of her and nursed her back to health. After that episode she stayed in the house. About two weeks ago we noticed the cat was gaining weight fast. The cat started sleeping in the sink in the bathroom at night. This was a bit odd. I figured it was easier for her to wash up in the morning A few weeks ago she began searching for out of the way places in the house. My wife and I didn't need a "vet" to figure out she was going to have kittens. Last Friday around 0200 am she had them. Well now we have five cats Luckily we have placed most of the kittens once they've been weaned. We will keep Jade and have her fixed ASAP. Travis Posted March 12, 2010 Report Posted March 12, 2010 Those are some cute kittens. My son would really get a kick out of playing with them. But before you get any ideas, we have on cat too many. Congrats to the addition to your family. Time to invest in a laser pointer. Quote
NiTay614 Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 I haveiger cat, her name is psych. I did not give her thi name, my oldest son did. Recently she had 5 kittens. Onethem was born with a birth defect. She only had one eye. It was funny watching her. When she walkked it was if she was drunk, I had no idea was expecting. she is skinny ALL THE TIME. She too is a stray. She thought the engine of my cas a warm coy place to take a nap. My son thought the cat was nuts, he the name, PSYCHO. Her persality reflects her name, extremely well. Quote
grampa Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Good on ya Vector for giving a stray a home................ Paul Quote
Vector01 Posted March 15, 2010 Author Report Posted March 15, 2010 Yep...They all seem to be healthy. My wife is chompen at the bit to pick em up and count their toes and see what gender they are I know it's 8-10 weeks before they are weaned. I'm not sure when they can be handled. It's unfortunate that people have pets and then abandon them for whatever reason. I know that the animal shelters around here are full. Luckily the kittens will have good homes. Quote
grampa Posted March 15, 2010 Report Posted March 15, 2010 Same over here in the uk the shelters are full of cats its a shame...........Paul Quote
Helenm2807 Posted March 27, 2010 Report Posted March 27, 2010 Congratulations on your new arrivals (I can't believe I just did a typo there and wrote 'mew' arrivals ). We had two cats but unfortunately lost one to cancer about three years ago. As the remaining one 'Sam' was obviously lonely, we got a pair of kittens. Originally named Mac and Millie they quickly became know as 'Chaos' and 'Mayhem'. Sam moved out for the summer. Hope you're ready for the chaos and mayhem yourself Quote
Marshall Posted March 28, 2010 Report Posted March 28, 2010 Vector you have a caring heart .......... Quote
