A few new pens

Her are four pens of close to 30 I recently turned. I was just restocking finally. The first one is an Aero kit with Afzelia lay(I believe), The next is a Virage kit with a blank I made with the Air Force logo on it , # 3  a Virage kit with Olive wood with a cross scrolled into it , and the last is a slimline of maple with hearts scrolled into it. The scrolled pens are cut then filled with flocking and CA glue, then turned.

Those are very nice.  How did you do the Air Force logo one.  I really like the ones you scrolled on.  I have never heard of using Flocking, I use epoxy colored with paint mix.  The flocking would give a different texture I would think.

The air force is a water slide decal. like the ones for plastic model cars. Some hobby/ craft places sell kits to make them. The flocking and CA glue dries fast so I can turn it within minutes.

Lovely pens Clayton and I love your display stand too.  It's difficult to display them properly for photographing but that looks great.

Thanks Rob. The stand was made with an odd shaped piece of deer antler and maple. I couldn't use the antler for a pen and I didn't want to throw it away so I made the pen holder. It works pretty well to take pictures with.

I wonder how many people are on the looking on list from the neighborhood .To just come and watch you work wonders. It could possibly pay for A.C., supplys and booze plus fellowship. I know I'd enter my name in the ballot box to gain the chance to look see . Has paper mate pens offered you a high paying position yet! Keep up the great work. I love the pens i got from you and treasure them. No one knows  how good they really look till it's in your hand including intarsias The quality is far above what you'd expect.The mouse and cheese i got from you is most awesomely done . It's just hard to put in words how much value is in your work . They far far exceed my expectations! Thank you sir for allowing me to own a few of your works!

Beautiful pens. I am really interested on how you did the cross .I tried one and it blew apart on the lathe when i was almost down to the finish.Have not tried it since.

Thank you. After I cut the cross and fill it, I just turn it with light strokes checking often to see if any of the "filling" has come out.
