JOE_M Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 Trying to follow the gimp lessons. I had to reset all my preferences to start. (Edit - preferences - windows management - reset saved windows positions... - ok - restart). I made it thru a few lessons before things looked too different again. Now I'm at L6 and stuck on brush selection. I docked the brush toolbar, but can't get it to look like the video. At the 6 minute mark Travis talks about 5-pixel brushes, but doesn't show how to find them and I clicked around but didn't see anything. Here's a screen shot. The video is in the middle, my toolbars are in the background on the left. The video shows a brush, and to the right of it is a dot. All I get is a dot. His selection of brushes also looks different from mine. So how do I go from a solid 3px brush to a 5px brush with solid edges? thanks Joe Quote
heppnerguy Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 Joe, give this a try.. at the top of your gimp page you will see a series of options.. with 'file' on the left side and 'help' on the other end......click on 'windows' then on the drop down menu you will see 'dockable options' click on it and you will see 'tool options'. ( you might only need to hover on Dockable Options for the next window to open.....I can't remember for sure)..then click on ' tool options' and when that opens, you will see a 'size' section under the brush tools and you can them click on the little up and down arrows on the right side and change the size of your brush. Hope i was able to explain it well enough for you to understand. Dick heppnerguy JOE_M 1 Quote
Travis Posted May 24, 2017 Report Posted May 24, 2017 Yah, they changed things a bit on how GIMP works. You can check out this post. It is basically the same thing @heppnerguy explained. You do it in the Tool options now. JOE_M 1 Quote
