spirithorse Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) Hi, Forester, From the photo, I think this is just stained pine with holes cut slightly larger than what appears to me to be tea light candles. You can cut the holes with the scrollsaw, a hole saw, or a forstner bit slightly larger than the candles. As for dimensions, just looking at the photo it would appear that the width of the wood should be about 6 times the diameter of the candles, therefore, the Length of the wood should be about 12 times the diameter of the candles with the kerf line directly in the center of the wood stock. After the holes are cut in the pine stock you will add a backer board so the candles have something to sit on and not drop through the hole you drilled or cut. Any further questions, just PM me and I'll see if my wife has any candles like this to get exact measurements from. The images that Joe M sent would be ideal to size to the size of wood you decide to use and give you the exact placement of the holes for the candles without doing any of the tedious measurements and mathematics. THANKS JOE_M God Bless! Spirithorse Edited June 14, 2017 by spirithorse Expanded idea frankorona and Forester 2 Quote

Birchbark Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 I made a domino pattern to drill the holes. It wasn't this small back when i posted it. Not sure why it is so small now, but here is what i made. Just drill on the intersection of the lines you want. But to be honest, i doubt you can use it when it's this small. JOE_M Posted June 14, 2017 Report Posted June 14, 2017 Oh cr@p I need new glasses ASAP! I saw the pic and with no concept of size it just looked like a regular little domino that someone had made, sitting on a paper towel. I thought the stain was an odd way to finish a domino, and that someone should have measured their inlay before drilling the holes because the dots were so loose they were ready to fall out. I would never have guessed those were candles! So is it big - like 1x2 feet? Quote
