Some bandsaws years ago were sold with an attachment where you'd take of the blade guides and install a flat batten in its place. Then you'd replace the blade with a sandpaper belt. The attachment is usually missing in action although you can still buy the sanding belts.

It's a family forum so I won't tell you what I thought of the system except to say that it starts with a c and rhymes with rap.

Edit: My response was in regards to the sanding attachment. I can't speak for the saw part of that particular model bandsaw.

I had that saw but never used it as a sander. I gave it to a boy scout try to earn a merit badge in woodworking. Nothing wrong with the saw but I didn't like the fence. I would offer $75 as the blade seem to be out of stock from a lot of suppliers. You can order them from Carter but they are a bit pricier.

Found a band saw on craigslist for $125 and it is listed as a 12 inch craftsman band saw-sander... Not really sure what that means so any info is appreciated and if it would be a good deal or if that model was bad. Here is a picture:00U0U_fnjeGOuPj25_600x450.jpg

Thanks!
