Popular Post Rolf Posted September 16, 2017 Popular Post Report Posted September 16, 2017 I posted this on the SSWWC forum but I am not sure how many from here are on it. This is my donation for our Churches fall Harvest fair live auction. The pattern is in a German magazine Feinschnitt Kreativ . I am not entirely sure who the artist is The article was done by Holger Pfannkuch but the pattern says Reinhard Leps. I am a bit rusty and not entirely happy with it but still love this design. Joseph is Butternut, Cedar, Wenge, Walnut and a bit of Red heart. Mary is Cherry, Aspen and Walnut. Star is yellowheart ,cherry roof. The base was a piece of rough sawn mystery wood that I left a sort of natural edge on. jscottj, Phantom Scroller, don watson and 8 others 11 Quote
Montserrat Posted September 16, 2017 Report Posted September 16, 2017 I am fairly sure Holger Pfannkuch designed this! Quote

Rolf Posted September 17, 2017 Author Report Posted September 17, 2017 Montserrat that is what I thought also but as a stated on the pattern it says " Weihnchtsgeschichte Schnittvorlage Reinhard Leps"? Quote
wombatie Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 Absolutely perfect. Love it. Marg Quote
Montserrat Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 Rolf, turns out the design is neither by Pfannkuch nor by Leps. Apparently Leps did the pattern for scroll sawing and Pfannkuch the article with the photos The design itself is by Ernesto Ochoa Sainz, from Spain. Quote
Rolf Posted September 20, 2017 Author Report Posted September 20, 2017 As I posted on the SSWWC board what strange way of doing business. I wonder why they did not give the original designer credit? Quote
Montserrat Posted September 20, 2017 Report Posted September 20, 2017 I could speculate on that, but won't, at least not publicly. Quote
Linkshouse Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 You've done a beautiful job of this. I really like the pattern, is it publicly available? Regards Phill Quote
Linkshouse Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 Doh! Sorry, should have read the text instead of just looking at the photo. I'll do a search. Phill Quote

Regards Phill Phill - Here is a link to the German Magazines Archive Section: http://www.feinschnitt-kreativ.de/index.php?art_id=2e941cf4dc0aa730f7d561ff5378b4ef This particular pattern is in their Winter 2015 edition found here: http://www.feinschnitt-kreativ.de/index.php?ffact=art&ffact2=show&art_id=2693f13b8e0b54c1953f3809a96fc52d I was able to order the magazine from their website along with another one that I liked earlier this year despite my lack of knowledge of the german language. They arrived fairly quickly here to me in the US so I would think you should be able to get them quickly from them to Scotland. I hope to give this one a go at some point. Its the reason I bought it - I can only hope that mine looks half as good as Rolf's. It looks like from Rolf's photo and the magazine's photo that Rolf made the manger with the star wider and a little taller so that the people can fit "inside" the manager and added the base for it all to set on. Linkshouse Posted September 27, 2017 Report Posted September 27, 2017 Thanks meflick, there are a few editions there that take my fancy. Fortunately, I know a little German (my wife even more so) so that must be an omen... Regards Phill meflick 1 Quote
Rolf Posted September 29, 2017 Author Report Posted September 29, 2017 Thanks Melanie, This the second one I have made and I like it better with the larger manger. the only drawback to having Mary and Joseph inset is that it puts them in a shadow when displayed but I still like the scaling better. I am going to make a couple more for my sales this year. along with one of these. I have reduced the pattern for it to 61 %. it was about 18" I am making it 11" long. Lucky2 1 Quote
meflick Posted September 30, 2017 Report Posted September 30, 2017 I like this one too Rolf. I have it to. The problem i a, having is plenty of patterns and little time right now. I need to get back out to the shop and get to work. Maybe I can next week. Quote
Montserrat Posted September 30, 2017 Report Posted September 30, 2017 (edited) I made it in 2015. Really love it. A reverend friend bought it for her church. Edited September 30, 2017 by Montserrat Lucky2 and meflick 2 Quote
