Travis Posted September 19, 2017 Report Posted September 19, 2017 Howdy all. I've added a new feature that I hope folks will like. This is an Q&A forum where you can get your questions answered. Sometimes, when you have a question, they can get lost in the forum. This is a special forum for those types of questions. I hope this will be a place to get your questions answered quickly and allow you to be confident in the best answer offered by SSV members. Here's the way it works. If you have a question that requires a best answer, post them here. Other members can answer your question. But sometimes, the question has already been answered by another member. In that case, you can vote up (or down) the best answer. The more votes an answer gets from SSV members, you'll be confident that is the best answer to your question. The best answer (with the most votes) will always be at the top. And if you asked the original question, you can choose the best answer to your question so others know the solution you chose. Sometimes, someone asks a really good question. You can also rank questions, so they float to the top too. At the top of the forum will be two tabs. The first tab is "Popular questions of the past month." As you can imagine, this will list popular questions from the last 30 days. Popular questions would be a thread with a lot of posts or votes. The next tab is "Questions with No Best Answer." This is an important tab that you can use to help out. Check out that area to see if there are unanswered questions you can help out with. Once the forum fills out a bit, it will be a neat place to browse and pick up tips. JOE_M, OCtoolguy, Doug and 6 others 9 Quote

Lucky2 Posted September 23, 2017 Report Posted September 23, 2017 Travis, how's a person supposed to know what the best answer is, without trying every one suggested? Just because they try one that works, doesn't mean they've tried the best one. It only means that they've tried one that works or suited them, doesn't mean it's the best one. Len Quote

Len Lets say that someone asks a question, and another member answers it. Then 10 other members agree with the member that answered the question and up-voted the answer, it's safe to assume that is probably the best answer to the question asked. It doesn't necessarily mean that the other answers are wrong, just most agree with the one that gets up-voted the most. The person who asked the question doesn't have to choose the best answer. But if they want, they can choose the one they went with. This also gives valuable info to others who are looking for the answer to the same or similar question. So, to up-vote or agree with a question, click the up arrow. Likewise, you can disagree with an answer too, by clicking the down arrow. If you are the person who asked the question, you can select the answer you choose to use by clicking the check mark. Quote
heppnerguy Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 a great new, helpful idea, Travis... I think everyone will eventually use these questions as a good source for information they may not have thought about asking. Dick heppnerguy Quote
ricklab Posted January 18, 2018 Report Posted January 18, 2018 Has anyone done the cherry tree Chime of Normandy clock? If yes I understand the plans do not include any instructions. So was it easy to assemble? Quote
