Silver Foxx Posted September 23, 2017 Report Posted September 23, 2017 My wife is wanting me to do a 6foot long by 3 foot long Dragon for our Dinning room. I can't seem to find a Dragon like she wants nor can I find one big enough. I've done a Dragon search & haven't been able to find what she's looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is as close as I can come to what she wants. Thanks in advance Quote
lawson56 Posted September 24, 2017 Report Posted September 24, 2017 Down Right Awesome Dragon.Wish I could be of help.Have you tried enlarging one at a printing company? Quote
Birchbark Posted September 25, 2017 Report Posted September 25, 2017 If you make this dragon six feet long, it will be four and a half feet tall. But we can't copy someones pattern for you anyway, sorry Russell Quote
Silver Foxx Posted September 25, 2017 Author Report Posted September 25, 2017 Does anyone know who's pattern that is? I found it on google search with other dragons. If I can find the pattern maker I'll just buy it from them. Quote
Scrappile Posted September 25, 2017 Report Posted September 25, 2017 I probably would also. I could not find it as a pattern. Quote
Silver Foxx Posted September 25, 2017 Author Report Posted September 25, 2017 Well hopefully someone on here knows the pattern maker Quote

Silver Foxx Posted September 26, 2017 Author Report Posted September 26, 2017 Just checked on the Art Factory & it's not on there Quote
penquin Posted September 26, 2017 Report Posted September 26, 2017 (edited) Wildwood design, I think had one you could enlarge. It was a profile that you did in sections and the legs covered up the join spots on the dragon. It could of been art factory believe it was from Curt. jim penquin Edited September 26, 2017 by penquin new information Quote

Exactly what I thought when I saw the picture. I went to the Art Factory site and it is not in their catalog. I sent a message to them to see if it is one of Dirk's and if it is, is it available. I'll let you know the response. Quote

That was going to be my suggestion - to reach out to his wife via the site and check with her to see if it was one of his patterns. If it is, she will probably be able to make it available for your purchase. I found something in the last year that were his designs (think they were Christmas ornaments) and reached out to her and she was able to get them to me very quickly. Quote

You are correct Melanie, I email yesterday afternoon, she has responded. The "Stretch" is Dirk's. for sure and she still has the pattern available. The first one, and the one I an most interested in she is not but is looking further. Quote

Silver Foxx Posted September 27, 2017 Author Report Posted September 27, 2017 Thank you all for all the research for the pattern. I am new to the forum and you have made me feel welcomed here. I use to scroll 15 years ago. I have a lot of the old Creative Woodworks & Crafts from 1998 thru 2001. I have been getting Steve Goods news letter for probably the past 4 or 5 years. But because of an article Steve had in his news letter It got me back scrolling. I started talking with Scott from woodcrafts by Scott. He'swho turned me on to this forum. Thank you everyone for being so helpful. Because of everything that every one wrote I started looking through old magazines and looked on wooden teddy bear and found it. It's called mythical Medieval Dragon. Again thank you, also there will be two of Dirk's keepers of time dragons on either side of the door. I've had the pattern since 2001 or so. Time to put them in wood. I'll take pictures of this & post them when done. Quote
Scrappile Posted September 27, 2017 Report Posted September 27, 2017 How did you ever find it and thank you so much??! Great find.. I would never have thought to look there. Quote

Silver Foxx Posted September 28, 2017 Author Report Posted September 28, 2017 That is sweet. Well I found the creative woodworking & craft magazine it's in. September of 1998. I told my wife "see those magazines did come in handy." Yea my wife doesn't get my humor. Just because all my magazines take up 5 book cases doesn't me I'm a pack rat. Does it? Please no one answer that lol. Thanks again everyone. Quote
Lucky2 Posted October 20, 2017 Report Posted October 20, 2017 Rainey, the pattern for the original picture you posted, is in an older copy of Creative Wood Works & Crafts pattern magazines. I don't have access to my pattern books right now, I'm sorry I don't or I could tell you which issue it was in. Len Quote
