cjswoodcrafts Posted July 11, 2010 Report Posted July 11, 2010 hey everyone, this is what i am working on for a woman in Iowa, she is sending me some sweet Iowa corn tomorrw, over nighting it, so she wanted this and 2 others in trade. guess this is a relief carving but im still workin on it, hand just got too hurtin carvin it..any feed back is appreciated, also the pic i used is in the photo too. any ideas on to make it look real good will be appreciated too, Thanks all Quote

I see patience pays in the long run,as carveing is a slow go.Kinda looks like a mardi gra type face,what do i know.I can taste that corn allready.You know what the best tasteing corn is?FREE!yours should be in the mail now.lolShow us a picture of your tools to carve with .I've allways wanted to know how to put on the best edge on anything that cuts,lawnmower blade, axe,knife,carveing tools.It's definetely an art.And the better you do it the easyer it is to work .I hit and miss too much.Need to learn!The picture enlarged is very good now.you don't waste anytime gettin to the meat of this project.Congradulations on your work for the batterd women too.A heart for the hurting. cjswoodcrafts Posted July 12, 2010 Author Report Posted July 12, 2010 Kevin, hey there, ty, yeah it was alot of work, but mainly i use a rotary tool like a dremel, but mne is a black and decker ( i went cheap) then i used a hand carving tool for the details, just about got it done just gotta glue it to a backing and clear coat it.. heres another pic so far....
