I'm still on my early spring cleaning kick. My Kreg furniture tool has been lonely so I decided to build some needed shop accessories. I had so much assorted wood in the shop, so I decided to build a storage rack from a drawing I found on Pinterest. It's amazing how much wood fits in there. Bigger boards are mounted in the back. I learned a very important lesson. All the shelves and dividers are dado'ed and I found out that 3/4" and 1/2" plywood thickness are not actually that size. I did  a lot of shim adjustments on my stack dado until I got a good fit. A Cheap HF digital micrometer is a big help.

I built a rack for all my drills. Then my belt sander (HF) started giving me fits so it was time to upgrade. No matter what the label was on the outside, (or color) the one I wanted looked exactly the same but there was a big difference in price. I checked out that big river in Brazil and they had a WEN for a great price and free shipping! I had all my sanding stuff all over the place so my Kreg buddy helped me out again. I had a drawing for a router stand I have wanted to build and modified it and started building. When it was finished, I realized it was for a router  height, not a sander height. I had to knock it down a few inches. Now everything is in a convenient place (and labeled) and both projects are on wheels. It's time to let my Kreg tool be lonely again. My Scroll Saw is calling!

Nice work. I'm one of those who need organization in the shop so I appreciate your efforts.

Regarding those 'undersized' dados. Rocker, and I assume others, sell undersized straight for those types of cuts. They have a 15/64 and a 31/64. Those types of dadoes are sometimes easier to make with a hand held router vs. the table saw. They work great for me.

Berry, I have a Freud Dado set and it comes with various shims. When I built my joint box guides, I marked the shims with a felt tip to identify which ones were for each size. Only problem is 1/4". It's good for true 1/4" and I only need the two outside blades but some pieces are .21. I'm still working on a work around for that.

As to organizing the shop, I was getting to the point that I was going to Lowes (no HD here) for stuff I knew I had but couldn't find. It's finally getting better.

Hawk, I'd be interested in seeing how your organization is going. It would actually be great to see other scrollers tips, tricks, gimmicks and ideas on how they organize(or want to) organize their shops. "You have to find it before you can build it."
