Anyone think that's a decent deal?    I ask because this is the same saw I have that was new still boxed.. I'd thought about selling it and several other saws to purchase a new BM series.. I sort of figured I'd be pressed to get 500 - 600 for mine.. lot's of them out there in the 200 - 400 range.. I know some one that has one just like mine that they bought almost new condition.. VERY lightly used and he has had it for sale for several months.. he started at $700 and last I knew he was down to around $500..

Yep, there is another saw that look similar that Rocky posted later for 400.  If this saw had to be "re-built", that actually doesn't make be feel too good about the state of the motor/controller, and other items not rebuilt.  I would say the vast number of owners by these "toys" with great expectations, do a few projects, lose interest and move on.  That is the kind of saw I want to buy used.  I would never buy a saw from a serious cutter.

My mom bought the Hegner 22v in the 80s thinking it would be a good hobby for my dad, but dad was not interested.  I think he may have used it to cut a few things, probably had less than half an hour on it, and the original blade.  Now that is a find.  Only thing wrong with that saw was that the years are not good on the plastic connector rod, so it dry rotted/broke, and I had to replace it very early.  That connector Rod probably had less than 15 hours use before it broke.  (I was cutting boxes, so that kind of cutting puts a lot of stress on the saw).

Yep, those are the saws I look for when buying used...unless that is.. if it's very cheap like the first Hawk I bought was only $100 though by the time I upgraded the air hose and broke several hundred blades before I discovered the tension lever / cam mechanism was worn and the upgrade to the new style clamp / tension cam / lever and new barrel clamps etc etc. I've got about $300  invested.. Then I run across the still boxed Hawk 226 ultra.. thinking it as a steal.. but after setting several years either the grease dried up in the bearings or there just never was any in them to begin with.. I've had to replace the sealed bearings on the connecting rod.. ended up kind of rebuilding it.. even though I'm guessing I've got about 50-75 hours on that saw.. probably close to that many on the older Hawk too.. though most of my time on either saw was just trying to get them working right, LOL.. both are awesome saws now..

In my area.. I see them all the time for 200-500.. and once in a while 600 - 800..

Down here in Texas the only saws that come up for sale are the low end saws, craftsman, harbor freight, and the like, wish more people were into scrolling down here, but it’s all cattle and horses, Rj
