74 and I've been playing around with it some.  Not everything on my computer works quite the same as  the class shows.  Not sure if it is new version of Gimp or because I am working on a Mac.  I'm on lesson 4  and already struggling.... but no rush.  If I die of old age before I learn then it won't matter anyway.

Just a simple statement, I've signed up' but what it means is I'm going to learn how to make patterns. Now I've placed that in the ether I cant give up like I did before. Now I'm off to the SSV University at age 60.

As everyone here knows I am an expert ......................... at asking for patterns. Well between one thing and another I've been delayed in getting stuck into learning pattern making using GIMP.

My first few efforts have thrown up the following issues;

  • Today I adjusted a layer and the pattern finished off with a very yellow hue. I had been messing around with channels before hand but I did not think I changed anything permanently.
  • Another issue with layers is when I adjust the pattern, then decide to re-adjust the pattern, the second adjustment  seems to work on the previous adjustment and not bring me back to the  original adjustment. I know its a bad description but I'm trying to ask am I the only one?

I am still learning so what I have been doing is duplicating each layer two or three times so when the pattern goes askew I just delete the whole layer and move onto the next one.
