wombatie Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 Terry and I went to a craft expo today, I spoke to one lady about making lace for my youngest daughter, I spoke to another lady about painting silk scarfs for my eldest daughter was going to speak to a fellow about his woodturning but when he looked at me then at Terry and said "Good morning Sir" and then to another fellow next to us and said "And a good morning to you Sir" I decided he wasn't worth my time, so not too loud but loud enough I said that the pompous pig should not be there if he couldn't talk to everyone. We then went next door to the Men's Shed and had a great time. I even gave one guy a lesson on a scroll saw. Marg WayneMahler, meflick, Phantom Scroller and 1 other 3 1 Quote
meflick Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 See, that’s where you and me are different Marg, I would have said something directly to him that made him have to speak to me. THEN, I would have done as you did but only making sure that I had been about to give him business that he just lost because of his behavior. Quote
new2woodwrk Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 When we first started shooting, my wife encountered this big time - seemed like the "good ole boys" would only talk to men/husbands. After awhile we learned why - so many woman/girlfriends/wives that went to the shooting range shouldn't have been holding a screw driver let alone a loaded weapon! Interestingly enough, after her first time shooting as they all watched and spoke with me - they were impressed with her skills and asked where she learned - I explained I taught her and she loads her bullets if she wants to shoot After that, they welcome her into the "click" and she became "one of the good ole boys" as well. The reason I bring this up, is sometimes men forget or hadn't learned it's the 21st century and women have had the vote for years LOL. I agree with Melanie - make them speak with you and teach them a subtle lesson they won't soon forget Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 I played darts in a local pub darts team and the wife said I 'd like a go at that, so I took her there secretly and she got very good then I let her loose on the rest of the team and she beat them all you should had seen their faces. brilliant Anyway they probably knew you Marg Roly Quote
Rockytime Posted April 14, 2018 Report Posted April 14, 2018 Not surprised. My wife follows politics more than I do. Don't argue with her! Quote
